Valentine’s Day – Welcoming the Cringe
Valentine’s Day is celebrated all around the world with sole purpose of sharing happiness and warmth with the loved ones, all in all it’s about celebrating a relationship. People exchange gifts, send each other flowers cards and what not. This expression of love and admiration turns out to be a memorable moment both in a good and devastating way if you are a desi.
Desi people are very complex creature with a 6 dimension perspective. *no jokes tbh*
We merely have mixed opinions about Valentine’s Day. Some of us are in favor of it, some of us are la–haul triggered while a vast proportion is seen celebrating it in possibly the most unusual way anyway. And nearly all of us must have encountered all these types of people on the very day.
Here is a detailed classification of the types of people you might be meeting on Valentine’s Day yet again in 2018.
Social media cancers!
This specific lot is basically a kafiyat which can be found in everyone. No matter if you are in favor of or against the norm, posting a status about it on social media is considered your foremost right as a member of desi-elite-society.
The day begins with flooding news feeds, where people ranging from different sectors of society ageing from I’m-too-cool-for-this-sh#t to astaghfirullah-yahoodi-sazish come up with sarcastic memes and ethical pamphlets respectively.
Extremists!
While the whole world is worried about fresh red roses extremists are busy with their “I’m-here-to-judge” duties. This particular type also includes the patriots, who are screaming their famous line on the top of their lungs “this is not our culture”. They are officially oblivious of all the political and social drama in the country.
Undoubtedly they deserve some extra coins for the epic show of patriotism and culture prevention, *thankyou sir, please sit down*
Geeks!
The type of people you notice who are not at all giving a single falooda about this day are labelled geeks. They are the ones who are busy with their normal daily routines. The geeks are only in love with their university, classes or offices. You will see them wandering around with files and notes – not roses and the love letter you wrote.
Cupids!
Cupids are prolly the cutest of every kind. They don’t care if anyone is celebrating the day or not, they are too busy picking the right red outfit, getting the perfect love gift for their valentine, planning the date night and most importantly thinking of ways to save their life from ghar walon ko pata chal gya to? But you know what, they are the perfect eye candies that won’t fail to entertain us on valentine’s day 2018.
Media Spice!
Subha ka aghaaz meaningless morning show kay saath..
Of course, how can we forget our media? Waking up to pointless morning shows creating a fantasy world for us desi people with lots of red balloons and ribbons. These Valentine’s Day special programs airing on every channel are simply just out of the world. *obviously in a ridiculous way*
Finally the ends with a Valentine’s Day special telefilm, which is likely to feature some so-called comedy.
Anyways, no matter how much we hate this desi-ness of ours, it is something what makes us an interesting and different from the rest of the world. As far as valentine is concerned, it’s solely your personal choice if you are in for wishing happy valentines day or not.
