The Flash is must watch entertainment for both hardcore comic fans and casual watchers locally and internationally, selling thousands of merchandises from online shopping in Pakistan and around the world. Since its premiere in late 2014, the popular TV show has wrapped up 3 seasons with an upcoming 4th one in October. Loyally obsessed Flash fans cannot handle the hype, so speculation runs high with fan predictions and theories. Here are 3 insane fan theories for the new season of The Flash:
Barry becomes the Black Flash!?
All Flash fans are aware of Barry’s high sense of morality. The ruthlessness of the grim reaper, Black Flash, is also infamously known to all fans. To imagine our beloved character in this role seems next to impossible! It may not be such a distant possibility for the new season. The ending of the previous season left dozens of questions in the minds of all viewers as to the return of Barry, and him returning as Death for all speedsters is actually not farfetched at all. The former Black Flash was none other than Season 2 antagonist Hunter Zolomon, better known as Zoom. Killer Frost (Yes we are still upset that Caitlyn betrayed Team Flash) killed Black Flash when he came after Savitar for his crimes against the Speed Force. The Speed Force is now looking for a new reaper to bring in all Speedsters when their time comes. It just so happens another capable speedster has just walked into the Speed Force prison. Black Flash Barry Allen going against Kid Flash Wally West is a collision we wouldn’t mind seeing! However, does that mean Barry will never be the flash? Unfortunately, maybe he won’t! This next fan theory elaborates on that and theorizes that the new protagonist is…
Wally West is the new Flash
Since Barry left in the season 3 finale of The Flash, the position remains open for a new guardian of Central City. Whilst Kid Flash was definitely a hero, he was not a beacon of hope like The Flash, and so that hole can never be filled. Or can it? Could Wally possibly dress up as The Flash and become the same good old hero that has been gracing our television screens since 2014? Yes we know the TV show is from the New 52 continuity so Wally West is actually African-American, but honestly, how many people have actually seen The Flash’s face when he speeds by everyone? Besides, Wally doesn’t necessarily need to hide his face. A speedster in Flash’s signature costume would be enough to scare the rogues of Central City and provide hope to the people. Could Wally West as new Flash be fighting against the former Flash Barry Allen who becomes Black Flash? We have to wait and see!
Iris brings Barry back
Grant Gustin, who plays Barry in the TV show, has confirmed his return as production has already started. The question is what capacity will he return in? We can optimistically think that he comes back unharmed and in a flash (pun intended, obviously). How will that be accomplished? Through the cheesy power of love, of course! Now don’t just ignore this theory because it’s a clichéd ‘power of love conquers all’ concept because it’s not. There is actual comic book evidence which backs up this possibility.
The Speed Force has taken victims much before than the CW show. In the comics, original Wally West was taken captive by the Speed Force as well and returned back to reality by an anchor. That anchor was called Lightening Rod and it was actually the personification of love that his girlfriend, Linda Park, had for Wally. All seasons of The Flash, especially the last one, have stressed on and developed the romance between Barry and Iris. Could it be for this very reason? Iris can definitely be Barry’s Lightening Rod that brings him back from the Speed Force. Or will Barry return some other way? Too many questions, not enough new Flash content!
While we wait for Flash to speed in our TV screens in October, let’s make do with crazy fan predictions, cool souvenirs, flash T-shirts from custom print shop and other goodies.
